The mixing of slurry in an anaerobic digester (AD) is one many key parameters, which have a significant effect on specific biogas yield (BY) and volatile solid (VS) removal rate. determination the optimum regime very complex as it depends large number internal external factors such microbial community, rheology slurry, impeller design, intensity, intervals. novelty this study investigation lab-scale under semi-continuous regimes by continuous monitoring physicochemical properties digestate. In study, helical ribbon (HR) was used for agitation operated at 67 rpm 5 min various intervals (1 h, 2 3 4 h). results showed 6–12% reduction BY time between operations increased. highest observed frequency min/h, produced total 54.1 L compared to frequencies where BYs were recorded 51.2 L, 49.8 47.3 respectively. Volatile fatty acids (VFAs) FOS/TAC ratio stabilized 5–7 Gl−1 0.3–0.5, appropriate intensity determined obtain production, could lead lower power consumption operations.
